WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS on Thursday evening, June 9, the Jewish Community Voice will celebrate its 75th anniversary as “Your Hometown Jewish Newspaper” at the Katz Jewish Community Center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey; and
WHEREAS the Voice has played a vital role in delivering important local, national and international news to South Jersey’s growing Jewish community since 1941, and today serves more than 50,000 people in Southern New Jersey; and
WHEREAS the Voice was established during World War II, at a time when communal institutions were growing to meet the needs of Jews locally to educate and inform, while also playing an influential role in community building; and
WHEREAS throughout our nation’s history, newspapers have been a vital piece of the fabric of our country; and
WHEREAS in today’s evolving media landscape, it is a testament to the Voice’s value within our community that it has continued to grow and thrive, and remains a steadfast source of local news and information that truly matters to our citizens; and
WHEREAS throughout its existence, the Jewish Community Voice has delivered local, national and international news to South Jersey’s diverse and growing Jewish Community and Cherry Hill Township is delighted to recognize and congratulate the Voice as it reaches this milestone.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to congratulate and thank the staff of

For their years of dedicated service in providing news to the South Jersey community, and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in celebrating the newspaper’s 75th year of publication, and wishing the Voice many more years of informing and engaging the Jewish community of South Jersey.
