WHEREAS the health and well-being of our citizens is of primary concern for the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township; and
WHEREAS on Saturday, Oct. 24, Sustainable Cherry Hill and our community will celebrate Food Day, to educate residents about the importance of having access to healthy, affordable, and sustainably produced food, and raise awareness of the need for better food policies; and
WHEREAS the daylong event will feature a series of workshops for residents of varied interests, and will educate visitors about local, healthy, sustainable foods that are produced in our own region; and
WHEREAS this year’s Food Day expo covers a number of important topics in a way that is both relevant and enjoyable for our residents, and will undoubtedly make this year’s message resonate loudly with those who attend; and
WHEREAS Cherry Hill Township and the Cherry Hill Mayor’s Wellness Campaign are proud to join with Sustainable Cherry Hill and its Green Health Task Force and this year’s sponsors and supporters to observe Food Day.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, to be
Food Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in protecting and promoting our local economy and local agriculture, and educating our neighbors on the importance of eating healthy, sustainably produced food, to ensure a happy, healthy future for ourselves, our children and our community.
