WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS Christian Webster, a member of Boy Scout Troop 70 in Cherry Hill, has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, joining an elite group of young men dedicated to serving and improving the community; and
WHEREAS for his Eagle Scout project, Christian organized, procured material for and managed the installation of three new trails and a fence at Timber Creek Park, for safe viewing of Timber Creek; and
WHEREAS the honor of Eagle Scout is bestowed upon approximately four percent of all Boy Scouts annually, making it a truly prestigious achievement; and
WHEREAS the journey toward becoming an Eagle Scout has rooted Christian in the Scout Oath of duty to God, country, others and self; and
WHEREAS the lessons learned and skills acquired while working toward the Eagle Scout rank help promising young men like Christian to develop into leaders who will benefit our world for years to come; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council are proud to call Christian one of Cherry Hill’s own, as he exemplifies the values that make our community strong.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Sunday, June 7, 2015, to be
Christian M. Webster Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in recognizing the hard work and commitment required to become an Eagle Scout, and in congratulating Christian and his family on this tremendous achievement.
