WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS today, friends, family and colleagues have gathered to celebrate Chief Master Sgt. Alexander Gargas, as he retires after 21 years of dedicated service to the students of Cherry Hill High School West; and
WHEREAS through the years, Chief Gargas has positively influenced the lives of countless young men and women in our community, and demonstrated through his actions the notion that every student deserves a chance at success, and it is an educator’s job to help them achieve it; and
WHEREAS Chief Gargas is regarded as both a quality educator and an outstanding human being, and his presence will be deeply missed by both the school and his students; and
WHEREAS teachers are often one of the greatest and most important influences in a child’s life, and while Cherry Hill is home to many talented educators, Chief Gargas stands out as truly exemplary, and the Mayor and Council wish to express our sincerest appreciation and gratitude for his years of service to our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Wednesday, June 17, 2015, to be

For his years of dedicated service to Cherry Hill High School West and the Air Force Junior ROTC, and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in wishing Chief Gargas a long, happy, peaceful and enjoyable retirement.
