Mayor Cahn and Council honored the Stockton Elementary School with a Proclamation at the Council meeting on March 26, 2012
WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS Richard Stockton Elementary School received the honor of New Jersey School of Character for years 2012-2014 by the New Jersey Alliance for Social, Emotional, and Character Development; and
WHEREAS this award was presented to twenty-eight schools nationally, six New Jersey Schools, and only one in Cherry Hill; and
WHEREAS the prestigious award recognizes schools and districts that exemplify the Eleven Principles of Effective Character Education, while demonstrating outstanding character education initiatives that result in positive student behavior, school climate, and academic performance; and
WHEREAS Cherry Hill Mayor and Township Council are honored to recognize the entire Richard Stockton Elementary School community, including the Stockton Character Education Committee in the impressive achievement of being awarded the New Jersey School of Character Award 2012-2014.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim March 26, 2012, as
Richard Stockton Elementary School Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in congratulating the Richard Stockton Elementary School, students, teachers, administrators, and parents alike on their most recent award recognizing the hard work of all those involved in the school community.
