WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of the Township of Cherry Hill to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS the 2014-2015 Cherry Hill High School East Boys Swim Team completed an unprecedented season that included multiple team and individual championships; and
WHEREAS led by Coach Joe Cucinotti, the team was crowned New Jersey Public A State Champions, South Jersey Public A Champions, and SJISA Invitational Champions with an undefeated 14-0 record; and
WHEREAS the relay team of David Rowe, Daniel Aronson, Patrick Gillooly, and Duncan Brookover took 2nd place in the state in the 400 Freestyle Relay and 3rd place in the state in the 200 Freestyle Relay, and the relay team of Duncan Brookover, Nicholas Rosa, and David Rowe, and Patrick Gillooly took 2nd place in the state in the Medley Relay; and
WHEREAS additionally, individual swimmer success went to David Rowe, who finished 2nd in the state in the 100 Butterfly, and Patrick Gillooly, who finished 4th in the state in the 100 Freestyle; and
WHEREAS the team trained for countless hours, and the team’s skills, hard work, good sportsmanship, and dedication contributed to the success accomplished; and
WHEREAS as Mayor and Township Council, we acknowledge that extracurricular activities provide a variety of benefits to students, and we support and appreciate the endeavors of the coaches and parents who enthusiastically encourage and support these activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill in the County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Monday, March 9, 2015 to be

Swim Championship Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and do urge all citizens to join with me in congratulating the Cherry Hill High School East Boys Swim Team on their Championship season, and commend the parents and coaches for teaching these young men important lessons about athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
