WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS on Saturday, April 25, 2015, friends, family and congregants will gather together to celebrate Rabbi Jerome P. David’s 40th anniversary at Temple Emanuel; and
WHEREAS for four decades, Rabbi David has served as a trusted spiritual advisor in the Cherry Hill community, starting as an Assistant Rabbi in 1974, and continuing as he was promoted to Associate Rabbi in 1977, and Senior Rabbi in 1987; and
WHEREAS throughout his time here, Rabbi David has been active in a number of community and social service organizations, including the Tri-County Board of Rabbis and the Central Conference of American Rabbis, and he currently serves as chair of the Rabbis’ Division of the Allied Jewish Appeal and on the boards of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey and the Susan G. Komen Foundation; and
WHEREAS with the love and support of his wife, Peggy, their three sons, Benjamin, Jonathan and Adam, and their seven grandchildren, Rabbi David has created a warm and welcoming atmosphere at Temple Emanuel that has improved the well-being of generations of men, women and children in Cherry Hill; and
WHEREAS for these reasons and many more, we wish to formally recognize Rabbi David’s service and contributions to Temple Emanuel and our community at large, and to wish him continued health and happiness as he continues his career here.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to honor and thank

For his years of dedicated service to Temple Emanuel and the residents of Cherry Hill Township, and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in celebrating Rabbi David’s 40th anniversary at Temple Emanuel.
