WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS today, the Camden County Chapter of Hadassah, one of the first chapters established in the world, celebrates 90 years strong in our community, with more than 2,000 members and associates locally; and
WHEREAS with ongoing outreach programs focused on helping the less fortunate here and around the world, Hadassah has become an integral part of the South Jersey community and a dynamic force in American society; and
WHEREAS in the United States, Hadassah enhances the quality of American and Jewish life through education, youth programs, and advocacy for pace-setting health care, education and youth institutions in Israel; and
WHEREAS locally, Hadassah’s efforts to collect school supplies for needy children and clothing for women in shelters, as well as its holiday food drives and its education programs, have made it an important part of the fabric of our communities, and we hope to see the organization thrive and grow for many years to come.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim March 7, 2015, to be
Camden County Hadassah Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in celebrating this remarkable milestone, and in thanking Hadassah of Camden County for its work to make Cherry Hill and our surrounding communities a better, stronger place to live, work and play.
