WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS today, faculty, students and staff at Rosa International Middle School have come together to honor, celebrate and thank their Assistant Principal, Maureen McHale, as she prepares to retire after dedicating 37 years of her life to education; and
WHEREAS a 1979 graduate of West Chester University, Mrs. McHale began her career as a Reading Specialist in Pennsylvania, this path would lead her through Delaware, Illinois, and New York, ending in Cherry Hill 10 years ago; and
WHEREAS for the last 7 wonderful years, Mrs. McHale has served as the beloved Assistant Principal at Rosa International Middle School, where she has cultivated a great environment for both learning and teaching, and forged positive and supportive relationships with community members to ensure all students receive the quality education they deserve; and
WHEREAS during her tenure, Mrs. McHale has always put Rosa’s students first, and brought a level of understanding and caring to her position that will make her hard to replace; and
WHEREAS throughout her career, Mrs. McHale has served as an excellent example to colleagues, teachers, and administrators alike, inspiring them all with her tireless advocacy for the best interests of the students; and
WHEREAS upon Mrs. McHale’s retirement, she can be proud of the tremendous impact she has had for her legacy will continue to resonate not only within the walls of her school, but also with the minds of students, parents, teachers and alumni throughout our town.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Friday, December 12, 2014, to be
Maureen McHale Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in thanking Mrs. McHale for making a difference at Rosa International Middle School for the last 7 years, and in wishing her, her husband, her daughters, and beautiful grandchildren – all the best as they embark upon a new chapter in life together.
