It is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy individuals; and
WHEREAS today, family and friends have gathered together to welcome home U.S. Army Capt. Chris Denton, and to celebrate his recent marriage to Cherry Hill native and fellow veteran, Capt. Amy Martino; and
WHEREAS Capt. Denton, an 11-year Army veteran, recently returned from his second tour of duty in Afghanistan; and
WHEREAS additionally, Capt. Denton has served twice in Iraq, and along with his wife, has been awarded a Bronze Star for heroic and meritorious service; and
WHEREAS throughout the history of the United States, American veterans such as Capt. Denton and his wife, Capt. Martino, have served with honor under the most difficult circumstances, and as such, they deserve our deepest gratitude and respect; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township are honored to be part of this homecoming celebration.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Friday, July 11 2014, as
Edward Martino Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in warmly welcoming Capt. Denton home, and in saying “thank you” to both he and his wife for their continued service to the United States of America.
