WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of the Township of Cherry Hill to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS the foundation of a humane and just society is the people's willingness to work together for the common good; and
WHEREAS across our nation and especially here in Cherry Hill, citizens are willing and eager to volunteer and bring people together in response to our community's critical needs; and
WHEREAS Nancy Baasch-Schweizer and the countless volunteers who support the Cherry Hill Public Library epitomize the highest values of our society, in that regardless of the situation, station, age, race, or creed, all may volunteer and reap the rich rewards that come from giving aid to others, advancing the mission of the Library, and improving one’s own skills and widening one’s horizons; and
WHEREAS it is the duty of every citizen and leader to honor our dedicated volunteers and celebrate the volunteer programs that contribute to the quality of life in Cherry Hill and our surrounding communities today and in the future.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill in the County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Thursday, May 22, 2014, to be
Library Volunteers Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with Council and me as we celebrate this special day and honor the service of our volunteers at the Cherry Hill Public Library.
