WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS on April 4-5, 2014, the Cherry Hill High School East Ethics Bowl team competed in the second annual National Ethics Bowl competition at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill; and
WHEREAS for the second consecutive year, the East team performed extremely well, finishing No. 4 overall in the United States, following a first-place finish at Regionals in late 2013; and
WHEREAS the Ethics Bowl is a national program that combines competition with educational, tasking each team with formulating responses to very complex ethical and social case studies to which they are assigned; and
WHEREAS we commend the entire team, including coach Frank Lodge and team Fanyi Meng, Max DuBoff, Kevin Pang, Alyssa Poletti, Srihari Shankar, Samantha Stein and Mason Williams for their hard work and dedication.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to formally recognize and congratulate the members of the
Cherry Hill East Ethics Bowl Team
for their impressive performance at the second annual National Ethics Bowl tournament, and ask that all residents join with me and Township Council in thanking the entire team for bringing such positive attention to Cherry Hill by proudly representing their community on the national stage.
