WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS from April 23 to 26, three teams from the Cherry Hill High School East Robotics Team traveled to Anaheim, California, for the 2014 VEX Robotics World Championships; and
WHEREAS each year, the VEX Championships bring together more than 750 teams and 13,000 students from 26 countries for a series of engineering challenges that allow students to have fun and learn various academic and life skills; and
WHEREAS the 2014 competition was East’s most successful World Championship effort in five years, with team Frightening Lightning advancing to the quarterfinal round in the Arts Division; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township wish to congratulate Coach Joe Dilks, teams Black Tie Robotics (Technology Division), Deus Vex Machina (Engineering Division), and Frightening Lightning (Arts Division) on proudly representing their school and community on an international stage.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to formally recognize the members of the
Cherry Hill East Robotics Program
for their impressive showing at the 2014 VEX World Robotics Championships, and ask that all residents join with me and Township Council in thanking the entire Robotics program for bringing such positive attention to Cherry Hill High School East and Cherry Hill Township.
