WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS on Friday, January 31, members of the Chinese community around the world celebrated the start of a New Year, the Year of the Horse; and
WHEREAS today, the Cherry Hill Huaxia Chinese School has organized a wonderful celebration that brings together more than 400 guests from across the Cherry Hill community with song, dance, entertainment, and other cultural festivities; and
WHEREAS this special celebration and gala show highlights the Cherry Hill Huaxia Chinese School’s mission of providing the community with an appreciation of Chinese language, culture and history; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council are pleased and honored to join in celebrating the 2014 Chinese New Year, and wish the Huaxia Chinese School and the entire Chinese community a very happy New Year.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill in the County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby recognize the
2014 Chinese New Year
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and urge all citizens to join with me and Council in celebrating the Chinese New Year, and in wishing everyone a year filled with good fortune, health, happiness and prosperity.
