WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS on Monday, January 6, 2014, Min Qian, a longtime member of the Cherry Hill Township family and an employee in the Controller’s Office, was granted the honor of United States citizenship; and
WHEREAS Min, a native of Beijing, China, has worked in Cherry Hill Township since April 1998; and
WHEREAS citizenship is a privilege that takes a great deal of time and dedication to achieve – one that opens windows of opportunity to achieve our goals and dreams, which are the driving forces in American life; and
WHEREAS Min’s wonderful achievement is a reminder to all of us that we must take full advantage of the rights, freedoms and responsibilities granted to us as United States citizens, which must not be taken for granted; and
WHEREAS Cherry Hill Township extends Min a very warm welcome, because we know that she is a wonderful addition to our community, this great state, and the United States of America.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby declare Friday, January 10, 2014, to be

in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in congratulating Min on this noteworthy honor and in celebrating her achievement.
