Mayor Cahn attended the Filipino-American Society Annual Valentine's Ball and presented a proclamation recognizing Saturday February 11, 2012 as Filipino-American Day.
WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and events; and
WHEREAS on Saturday February 11, 2012, the Filipino-American Society of South Jersey, Inc. will gather to celebrate the organization’s annual Valentine’s Ball; and
WHEREAS Society President Eleanor Beinitez and the Society members provide great service and community leadership to the residents of Cherry Hill and the greater South Jersey region; and
WHEREAS it is the purpose of this day to recognize all the contributions and accomplishment of Filipino-Americans in Cherry Hill, Camden County, the state of New Jersey, and the nation as a whole; and
WHEREAS Cherry Hill is home to a vibrant Filipino-American community that considers this an ideal place to establish families and nurture friendships among neighbors; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council strongly support the initiatives and events promoted by the Filipino-American Society of South Jersey.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim February 11th, 2012 as
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in recognizing this historic day the events promoted by the Filipino-American Society of South Jersey.
