WHEREAS impaired drivers on our nation’s roads kill someone every 30 minutes, 50 people per day, and almost 18,000 people each year; and
WHEREAS some 19 percent of motor vehicle fatalities in New Jersey in 2012 were related to alcohol; and
WHEREAS the summer season and the Labor Day holiday in particular are popular times for social gatherings that include alcohol; and
WHEREAS the State of New Jersey’s Division of Highway Safety is sponsoring the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over 2013 Statewide Crackdown; and
WHEREAS the Cherry Hill Township Police Department will participate in this project from August 16 to September 2, and will increase impaired driving enforcement during this period with the hope of saving lives on our roadways.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby declare the Township’s support for the

2013 Statewide Crackdown
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and remind all residents to be aware of the dangers of drinking and driving during the summer season, and all year long.
