WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS Daniel Peterson, a member of Troop 166 in Cherry Hill, has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, joining a prestigious group of young men dedicated to serving and improving the community; and
WHEREAS for his Eagle Scout project, Daniel designed, built, and installed a wooden Ga-Ga court at Congregation Beth El, which will give students a safe play area, as a way to give back to the synagogue and community that has supported Daniel throughout his life; and
WHEREAS the honor of Eagle Scout is bestowed upon approximately five percent of all Boy Scouts annually, and the lessons and skills this elite group exhibits provide a foundation for these young leaders to continue to lead by example through service throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council are proud to call Daniel one of Cherry Hill’s own, as he exemplifies the values that make our community strong.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Monday, May 6, 2013 to be

Eagle Scout Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in recognizing the hard work and commitment required to become an Eagle Scout, and in congratulating Daniel on his tremendous achievement.
