WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS today, we are proud to celebrate Opening Weekend 2013, and the start of the Cherry Hill Youth Athletic Association’s 50th year; and
WHEREAS founded in 1963, CHYAA has grown through the years to a league of about 50 teams and hundreds of players across nearly a dozen divisions; and
WHEREAS throughout CHYAA’s five decades of providing youth baseball to our community, the league has helped our children become well-rounded and productive citizens, by fostering a culture of teamwork, good sportsmanship, hard work and determination; and
WHEREAS we wish to thank all those, both past and present, who have worked throughout the years to make CHYAA such a wonderful organization, including League President Joe Bush, Vice President Kevin Comber and the entire 2013 executive board, the enthusiastic and dedicated coaches, the supportive parents and, of course, the players.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Sunday, April 14, 2013, as
Cherry Hill Youth Athletic Association Day
in recognition of this milestone anniversary, and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in congratulating the entire CHYAA family on achieving 50 years of excellence, and in wishing them a very successful 2013 season.
