WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS tonight, four Cherry Hill residents, Rev. Edwin A. Martinez, Marilyn Martínez, Robert Milner, and Eddie Rosado, are being recognized for their dedication to improving the quality of life of Hispanics and all residents of Camden County; and
WHEREAS Cherry Hill resident Rev. Edwin Martinez serves the community in numerous ways, most notably as Senior Pastor of Puerta de Salvación (Door of Salvation) Assemblies of God Church in Camden, and has previously served on the Camden City Board of Education; and
WHEREAS Rev. Martinez is a devoted husband, father, grandfather, pastor and friend who has committed his life to improving the lives of Hispanics and the greater Camden County community; and
WHEREAS September 15 to October 15, 2012, is nationally recognized at Hispanic Heritage Month, and it is fitting that we recognize those who have had a lasting impact on the community; and
WHEREAS Mayor Cahn and Township Council are honored to recognize Rev. Martinez and the rest of tonight’s honorees, for their exemplary efforts as leaders of our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Friday, October 12, 2012, as

Reverend Edwin Martinez Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in recognizing Reverend Edwin Martinez for his dedication and lifelong commitment to improving the lives of Camden County’s Hispanic population, and our entire community.
