WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of the Township of Cherry Hill to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS the 2011-2012 Cherry Hill High School East Boys Track and Field Team completed an unprecedented season that included multiple team and individual championships; and
WHEREAS accomplishments achieved by the team throughout the 2011-2012 year included the first ever 4x400m relay Indoor Eastern States Champions, first ever Olympic Conference American Division Championship, Penn Relays 4x400m Relay Champions, first ever Woodbury Relay 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400m Relay Champions, and Nationally ranked 800m Sprint Medley; and
WHEREAS led by Coach Maniscalco the team trained for countless hours, and the team’s skills, hard work, good sportsmanship, and dedication attributed to the success accomplished; and;
WHEREAS as Mayor and Township Council, we acknowledge that extracurricular activities provide a variety of benefits to students, and we support and appreciate the endeavors of the coaches and parents who enthusiastically encourage and support these activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill in the County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, June 12, 2012 to be
Cherry Hill East Boy’s
Track and Field Championship Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and do urge all citizens to join with me in congratulating the Cherry Hill High School East Boy’s Track and Field Team on their Championship season, and commend the parents and coaches for the lessons on athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
