WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and events; and
WHEREAS 25.8 million people in the United States live with Diabetes, five percent of which are Type 1 Diabetics, whose bodies are incapable of producing insulin; and
WHEREAS with no known cure to Type 1 Diabetes, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) continues its funding efforts for research to help prevent, treat, and find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes; and
WHEREAS on June 8, 2012, students, teachers and faculty at the Henry C. Beck Middle School are hosting the JDRF Walk with a goal to raise $5,000 for the Foundation; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council are honored to support the JDRF Walk at Henry C. Beck Middle School in Cherry Hill, and congratulate students, teachers, faculty, and the entire Cherry Hill School District for the continued success in raising funds for the foundation.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Friday, June 8, 2012 as
Henry C. Beck Middle School
JDRF Walk Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in recognizing the success of this event and dedication of all those involved.
