WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS today, we gather together to honor and celebrate Poppy Davis, a longtime resident of Cherry Hill’s Woodcrest neighborhood, as she turns 90; and
WHEREAS Poppy has been an active Red Cross volunteer for over 52 years, beginning as an original Red Cross Blood Services Volunteer at the Philadelphia Naval Yard during the early years of public blood collection; and
WHEREAS Poppy’s years of service have been driven by her strong belief in giving back to the community and helping others; and
WHEREAS Poppy is a friend to all and has become well-known as a dependable, friendly face and weekly fixture at the local Red Cross Blood Donor Center; and
WHEREAS Mayor Cahn and Township Council wish Poppy a very happy and healthy 90th birthday, and express their deepest gratitude for her dedicated years of volunteerism and public service.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby join in celebrating
Evangelia “Poppy” Davis
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in saying “Happy Birthday” to Poppy, and in wishing her continued health and happiness in the days, months, and years to come.
