WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy individuals; and
WHEREAS on November 22, 2012, Thanksgiving Day, the Jewish War Veterans Post 126 is hosting the 9th Annual Marine Lance Corporal Jeremy Kane Feed the Troops Thanksgiving Day Celebration, as the Cherry Hill and greater South Jersey community join together to honor and celebrate these dedicated men and women; and
WHEREAS Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on and appreciate the many liberties which United States Military men and women are dedicated to preserving, who sacrifice so much in the name of our continued freedoms; and
WHEREAS the Jewish War Veterans Post 126 along with many other sponsors, partners, and contributors joined together to ensure the success and continuation of this annual celebration as a symbol of the community’s appreciation of the United States Military Troops; and
WHEREAS today’s celebration features the presentation of the prestigious Bronze Star to United States Army Veteran and Post 126 Commander Arthur Seltzer for his service in World War II, the Battle of the Bulge, and liberation of the Dachau Concentration Camp; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township are proud to be a part of this annual tradition, and are grateful to the troops for their service and dedication to the safety and freedoms of United States citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby join in the
Feed the Troops Thanksgiving Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in honoring the troops for their service to our nation and wishing them health and safety as they continue defending our country, both at home and abroad.
