WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS tonight we come together to honor Jennifer Richman, a Cherry Hill resident who has inspired others to live with the same compassion and care she possesses; and
WHEREAS Jennifer was the recipient of Camden County’s 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Medal award, which she earned through her selfless contributions towards making Cherry Hill, and the entire Camden County community, a more accepting, unified, welcoming place to live; and
WHEREAS a lifelong resident and cheerleader for her community, Jennifer flourished her social skills into a vibrant community Facebook page that has now become the heartbeat of the town; and
WHEREAS Jennifer’s ability to engage and connect neighbors has led to thousands of residents acknowledging her as their go-to source for information whether she is posting events, promoting businesses, asking for referrals, finding lost dogs, sharing traffic alerts, discussing local issues, and more; and
WHEREAS Jennifer proudly accepts her role as Facebook administrator by putting her comedic twists on her posts and creating an engaging space where people can feel invested in the town, the local issues and their fellow neighbors; and
WHEREAS when she is not busy moderating posts and informing residents on local happenings, Jennifer co-owns a business with her brother that specializes in digitizing and preserving slides, photos, and videos to DVD transfer. She also runs a “Bootcamp for a Cause,” an outdoor workout program that donates 100% of its proceeds to charity; and
WHEREAS through her service to the community, Jennifer serves as a role model for all of our citizens and exemplifies the core values that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. devoted his life to teaching, and for that, she has made the Township of Cherry Hill very proud.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, March 12, 2019 to be
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and urge all citizens to join with me and the members of Township Council in recognizing Jennifer for her commitment to making our community a better place to live, work and play.
