WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS today, friends and loved ones have come together to honor longtime Cherry Hill resident Adele K. Haines, who celebrated her 100th birthday on March 1; and
WHEREAS born in 1918, Adele has lived a long and remarkable life, which we are pleased to acknowledge today; and
WHEREAS as an active member in her community, Adele attends senior luncheons, bingo games, and community events at the Barclay Farmstead and Croft Farm; and
WHEREAS as a charitable individual, Adele made and donated quilts for her quilt club and was a docent for the Griffith Morgan Historical House; and
WHEREAS Adele has consistently demonstrated strong family values by raising her five sons as a windowed young mother and teaching her 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren her home-styled cooking; and
WHEREAS through the years, Adele has shown her compassion through the holiday season by baking over 90 dozen cookies each year and gifting them to her friends and neighbors; and
WHEREAS by all accounts, Adele is a wonderful person loved by all who know her, and the Mayor and members of Township Council are happy to join those closest to her in celebrating her long and impressive life well lived; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Saturday, March 3, 2018, to be
Adele K. Haines Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in wishing Adele the happiest of birthdays as we celebrate this incredible milestone with her, and in wishing him continued health and happiness in the days, months, and years ahead.
