WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS today, members of our Cherry Hill community and the entire South Jersey region have joined with officials at Kennedy Health System to celebrate an important milestone in the history of Cherry Hill’s only full-service hospital; and
WHEREAS Kennedy has been an integral part of the fabric of Cherry Hill since it opened as Cherry Hill Medical Center in April 1960, and has evolved into one of South Jersey’s most respected names in healthcare, serving tens of thousands of patients each year, and acting as a valuable community partner and neighbor; and
WHEREAS in early 2016, Kennedy renewed its commitment to serve the citizens of South Jersey by announcing a two-phase, $200-plus million dollar project to modernize and reinvent its Cherry Hill campus, the first phase of which celebrate here today, with the Grand Opening of the new atrium, Medical Office building and parking garage; and
WHEREAS throughout its history, Kennedy has continued to evolve and seek new ways to deliver innovative, high-quality services to our residents, a reputation that will undoubtedly
continue, thanks to both this extraordinary reinvestment, as well as its efforts to join together with Jefferson; and
WHEREAS while Cherry Hill has become a regional healthcare hub, Kennedy remains our Township’s only full-service hospital, and we are proud to join with the leadership of both Kennedy Health and Jefferson, as well as our state and county lawmakers, friends and neighbors to celebrate a wonderful day, and an important step forward.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to congratulate
Kennedy Health System
on the completion of Phase One of the Cherry Hill Campus Transformation and the opening of its beautiful new atrium lobby, state-of-the-art Medical Office Building and structured parking garage, and do urge all citizens to join with me and the members of Township Council in wishing Kennedy continued success in its efforts to serve the men, women and children of Cherry Hill and the greater South Jersey region.
