WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS tonight, hundreds of Cherry Hill and South Jersey community members have gathered to celebrate, support and enjoy Dancing with the Cherry Hill Stars, a fundraiser for the Cherry Hill Education Foundation which marks its 10th anniversary in 2017; and
WHEREAS as part of tonight’s celebration, we wish to acknowledge the important role Eleanor Stofman has played in the Cherry Hill Education Foundation since assuming the role of President in 2007; and
WHEREAS under Eleanor’s leadership, CHEF has raised more than a million dollars and funded hundreds of grants and important programs for Cherry Hill’s 19 schools; and
WHEREAS her passion, dedication and creative vision have enabled the success of important initiatives for the organization, including Dancing with the Stars, the Foundation’s annual Golf Outing, and Cherry Hill-opoly; and
WHEREAS Eleanor’s enthusiasm is contagious, her dedication is truly inspirational, and her ability to foster strong relationships between the Foundation and other community stakeholders has been critical to its success; and
WHEREAS we can think of few people in our community who have more fully contributed to making Cherry Hill – and, in particular, our Public Schools – a better place for our children to live and grow than Eleanor Stofman.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, am proud to proclaim Sunday, April 30, 2017, to be
Eleanor Stofman Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and urge all citizens to join with me and the members of Township Council in thanking Eleanor for her many years of dedicated work to promote and grow the Cherry Hill Education Foundation, and to support our Cherry Hill Public Schools and students.
