| Qualifications for probationary Police Officer appointment |
| AGE: |
Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and must be hired on or before his or her 35th birthday. |

|
| CITIZENSHIP: |
Applicant must be a citizen of the United States. |
| |
|
| RELATIONSHIPS: |
Applications will not be accepted from any family member of a Cherry Hill Township employee. This policy shall not apply to part-time seasonal positions in the Recreation Department. Family member is defined as: spouse, parents, grandparents, children,
grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and any step, half, or in-law relations. |

| EDUCATION: |
Applicant must have earned a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with a 2.0 or better grade point average. Applicant must be able to read, write and speak the English language well and intelligently. |

|
| EDUCATION WAIVER: |
A waiver for the Bachelor Degree is available under the condition that the applicant, if appointed, satisfy the educational requirement within eight years of the date of appointment, at the rate of at least 12 credits per year while maintaining a minimum 2.0
grade point average. Failure to earn the minimum number of credits each year, maintain the minimum average, or failure to complete the entire education requirement within eight years from the date of employment will result in the termination of the employee from employment as a police officer.
The Cherry Hill Police Department assumes no responsibility for any tuition, fees, compensation for time, or any other liability incurred by the appointee as a result of fulfilling this educational requirement. The Police Department reserves the right of prior approval for all courses taken
to satisfy the educational requirement for any courses taken after appointment. |

| MORALITY: |
Applicant must be of good moral character, having never been convicted of a crime or any criminal offense involving moral turpitude or dishonesty. |

|
| PHYSICAL: |
Applicant's weight must be in proportion to height; must be able to pass physical ability test. |
| |
|
| MEDICAL: |
Applicant must be medically fit, exhibiting no physical impairment which would render the applicant incapable of performing the duties of a Police Officer. Applicant must have normal hearing; be able to distinguish colors accurately; have 20/20 vision actual
or corrected (eyeglasses, lenses.). |

|
| TESTING: |
Applicant must pass the prescribed physical agility, written, oral, medical, drug screen and psychiatric/psychological tests. |

|
| BACKGROUND: |
Applicant must satisfactorily pass a thorough background investigation, including but not limited to inquiries with the F.B.I., State Police, Local Police, Schools, Credit Bureau, Motor Vehicle Division, Military, Previous Employers, Family, Neighbors, and References
etc. |

|
| APPOINTMENT: |
Applicant must possess a valid New Jersey motor vehicle driver's license prior to appointment. After all testing and prior to appointment the applicant must withdraw from consideration for employment from any other law enforcement agency and provide documentation
of same. Also, the applicant must not be on a leave of absence from any law enforcement agency. |

The Central Records Department is located
on the first floor of the Municipal building. It is open Monday through
Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to file incident reports, and between 9 a.m.
and 4 p.m. to sign criminal charges.
