Annual Reorganization meeting set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2
Cherry Hill Township will officially usher in a new year at the annual Reorganization meeting, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014. I will join Township Council and many community members as recently re-elected Council members David Fleisher, Jim Bannar, and Susan Shin-Angulo, and Councilwoman-elect Carole Roskoph take the Oath of Office for a four-year term. Council will also select a President and Vice President for 2014. I know I speak for everyone in Town Hall and the entire Council, when I say we are looking forward to a bright 2014 for Cherry Hill!

Students, staff, community honor retiring Rosa Principal Ed CanzaneseCanzanese.jpg
On Friday, Council President Dave Fleisher represented the Township at a special ceremony honoring longtime Rosa International Middle School Principal Ed Canzanese, who is preparing to retire at the end of this year, after 39 years with the Cherry Hill School District. Council President Fleisher presented Mr. Canzanese with a special proclamation, while the school retired a Rosa athletic jersey in his name. He was also honored with a donation to his favorite charity, the Multiple Sclerosis society, and an array of banners, a video tribute and other festivities during a moving ceremony at the school. Please join me in thanking Mr. Canzanese for his years of service to Cherry Hill and our children, and in wishing him all the best as he begins a new chapter in life!

Township blood drive will benefit 54 area residents this season
Thank you to everyone who came out to donate blood at a special Red Cross Blood Drive the Township hosted last Wednesday in the Carman Tilelli Community Center. In all, 24 donors gave blood to the American Red Cross, which will translate into much-needed help for 54 patients in our area. Your donation will truly make a difference in someone's life, and I appreciate our residents' and staff members' willingness to give to others in this very special way.

Holiday Inn staff, managers take part in December's Walk with the MayorWalk with the Mayor Dec. 2013.jpg
Last week, staff and managers from the Holiday Inn joined us for the December Walk with the Mayor at Cherry Hill Mall. More than 30 Holiday Inn staffers, Township staff and community members turned out for this month's walk. The Holiday Inn, which is a partner in my Mayor's Wellness Campaign and a member of the Cherry Hill Business Council, fully embraced its participation in the walk, and even had special T-shirts printed for the occasion! If you couldn't make it this week, consider joining us in 2014. Anyone is welcome - and we encourage businesses to send employees as their schedules allow! We walk at 8 a.m. on the third Wednesday of every month, from September through April. For more information, call my office at (856) 488-7878, or email DDovey@chtownship.com. We hope to see you next month!
