Brace Road repairs set to begin Monday
The New Jersey Department of Transportation has announced that it will begin road maintenance and repairs on Brace Road from Berlin Road (Route 561) to Route 70 on Monday, July 22. Work will take place from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., and will affect both the north and southbound lanes. On Monday night, the road will be open to alternating lanes of traffic during the work hours. Detours will be in place during work hours from Tuesday to Friday. Detours will be posted. The DOT announced in May that Brace Road would be included as part of a $9.2 million plan to resurface five state highways in Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties. The work will improve motorist safety and extend the lifespan of each road. The DOT timeline is subject to change due to weather; motorists should check www.511nj.org for travel information.

Excessive heat continues Saturday; stay safe this summer
The high heat and humidity that have plagued the area this week will continue on Saturday, with temperatures in the 90s and high humidity in the forecast yet again. Remember to limit your exposure to the extreme elements, and protect children and pets from the excessive heat, as well. Check on elderly and medically fragile friends, neighbors and family members frequently. Stay cool and safe all summer long with tips from the Cherry Hill Office of Emergency Management, which can be found here and here. And remember: Cherry Hill offers several air-conditioned facilities in the event of a heat emergency. If you need to seek refuge in a cool location tomorrow, consider visiting the Cherry Hill Mall on Haddonfield Road, which is open until 9:30 p.m., or the Cherry Hill Public Library, which is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

Township road maintenance continues next week throughout Cherry Hill
Residents are advised that the Township Engineering Department is scheduled to repave Crooked Lane on Monday, July 22, weather-permitting. A utility trench that has eroded on Browning Road, adjacent to the intersection of Browning and Route 561 (Berlin Road) is scheduled to be milled and paved on Tuesday. Additionally, utility repairs are slated for Wednesday along Howard Road. These utility repairs will enable the Township’s road-maintenance contractor to complete the repaving of Howard Road later this summer
.
All work will be completed as the weather permits. Residents on roads affected by the Township’s Road Maintenance Program are notified by door hanger before work commences. Updates on these road projects will be posted on the Township's Facebook page and Twitter feed as necessary. For more information, please contact the Cherry Hill Township Engineering Department at (856) 424-3203.
