Free flu shot clinic set for Wednesday at Town Hall
In light of the early and aggressive onset of the flu in our region, the Camden County Department of Health has scheduled a free flu vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Carman Tilelli Community Center. The flu vaccine is recommended for residents ages 9 and older; children under 9 should be seen by a pediatrician. The vaccine is available at no cost, on a first-come, first-served basis. Appointments are not needed. For more information, contact the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services at (800) 999-9045, or click here.

Lourdes Health System partners for special ‘Walk with the Mayor’ eventmwclogo2.jpg
Cherry Hill and Lourdes Health System are teaming up to present a special ‘Walk with the Mayor’ event next Wednesday, Jan. 16, in the Cherry Hill Mall’s Grand Court. In addition to the traditional 2-mile walk with me and Township staff, Lourdes will offer participants free health screenings, seated chair massages, and a special giveaway. Lourdes physicians and staff will sign a special “Wellness Pledge” prior to the event. Lourdes is one of Cherry Hill’s newest Wellness Partners, with the LourdesCare at Cherry Hill ambulatory care center slated to open at Brace Road and Route 70 this spring. Part of my Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, Walk with the Mayor takes place at 8 a.m. on the third Wednesday of every month, and is a great way to start your day focused on your health. Sign up now for electronic sewer, tax bill reminders

Residents can now sign up to receive e-mail notifications ahead of each property tax and sewer bill due date. To sign up, simply click here, enter your e-mail address, and scroll down to click on the envelope icon next to “Taxes.” Please remember to set your spam blocker to allow e-mail from listserv@civicplus.com, to ensure e-mail alerts are received. Free rabies clinic Jan. 26 at the Carman Tilelli Community Center
Cherry Hill Township will once again host a free rabies clinic from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, in the Carman Tilelli Community Center, 820 Mercer St. Dog owners who have not already obtained their 2012 pet license will need to apply and pay for the license prior to receiving the shot. The license fee ($22.20 for spayed/neutered dogs, $25.20 non-spayed/neutered dogs) is payable only by check or money order on the day of the clinic; please do not bring cash. For more information, please contact the Municipal Clerk’s Office at (856) 488-7892.

Register now for next installment in ‘Girls Night Out’ workshop series
Girls in 4th through 12th grades and their parents are invited to attend the next installment of “Girls Night Out,” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 at Rosa International Middle School. Dr. Charlotte Markey, associate professor of psychology at Rutgers University, will lead the discussion about nutrition and how eating habits affect our everyday lives. Attendance is free, but registration is preferred. For more information, click

Samost JFCS hosts job interview workshop Jan. 17 at Temple Emanuel
Are your interviewing skills up to par? Register for a free "Interviewing to Land the Job" workshop offered by Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Services  in collaboration with Career Transition Partnership (CTP), at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Temple Emanuel on Springdale Road.  Join Courtney Kennedy, human resources generalist at Virtua Hospital, and Nadine Halevy, program manager of the JFCS Stan Kessler Career and Entrepreneurial Counseling Program, to learn how to hone your interview skills!
