Thank you for signing up for the Cherry Hill Gold Card for seniors.  The gold card entitles you to special discounts and programs.  The Gold Card Directory of all available discounts can be found online at http://www.cherryhill-nj.com/documentcenter/view/350. One benefit offered to Gold Card holders that I would like to highlight is FREE admission to the spring musicals produced by Cherry Hill High School East and West. The East and West performance schedule is included below for your convenience. 

Each week Mayor Cahn emails a Briefing to spotlight upcoming events and recent achievements. The Mayor’s Weekly Briefing also includes a special section tailored to residents over 55 years of age. If you have friends or neighbors over 55 years of age who aren’t already Gold Card members, encourage them to contact me for a card. 

The Spring Community Magazine is now available for download online by visiting http://www.cherryhill-nj.com/DocumentCenter/View/1508. The Recreation Department recently implemented a new registration software program that allows for an easier online registration process for free and paid classes. This new software also allows you to purchase tickets online – a new feature for the Recreation Department. While the past registration information is still stored and accessible by REC department, it is no longer available for public access. ALL users will have to create a new family profile and register each person in their home.

SENIOR LIVING- Mayor’s Messages
Cherry Hill is a great place, to live, work, play, and RETIRE.  Below are a few examples of the many services available to our residents over 55 years of age: 

  • Free Smoke Detector Inspection and Installation for Senior Citizens provided by the Cherry Hill Fire Department.  Call 856-429-7441
  • Handy Helper program: income-qualified senior citizens can receive free  help with minor home repairs. Call 856-488-7855
  • Real Estate Tax Deduction $250 is available for income-eligible property owners 65 years of age or older.  For information call 856-488-7899.
  • Gold Card Program. Residents 55 years and older can obtain a Gold Card which entitles them to discounts at local businesses, township events, and free admission to Cherry Hill HS East and West performances. Contact Gaye Pino at 856-661-4800 to obtain a Gold Card.
  • Income Tax Help for Seniors- FREE –sponsored by AARP- Tuesdays and Fridays 10AM to 2PM (until April 15) room 208 Cherry Hill township. No appointment necessary. Questions: Call 856-661-4800

There are many exciting and fun events coming up for Cherry Hill Seniors. 

The Cherry Hill School System offers a wonderful gift to Cherry Hill Seniors who have a Gold Card - all performances at Cherry Hill East and West are FREE!  This year’s spring musicals are Beauty and the Beast (East) and The Little Mermaid (West).

Mark your calendar now so you don’t miss these upcoming community events. Tickets for Croft Farm events can be purchased at room 102 at the Cherry Hill Municipal building or call 856-488-7868.

Details: The Garden State Film Festival will present 4 short original films.  Refreshments served. 

Senior Luncheon- movie- How to Marry a Millionaire (with live fashion show)
Date and Time: Friday, March 11, 11 AM
Location: Croft Farm Arts Center, 100 Borton Mills Road
Cost: $5.00 with pre-purchased tickets, 8.00 at the door. (Tickets available at Room 102, Cherry Hill Municipal building).

Ensemble Concert: Cabaret with Colleen Daly
Dates and Time: Sunday, March 13 at 3PM
Cost: $15-  $12 with Gold Card
Details.  Colleen Daly, Graduate of the world renowned Academy of Vocal Arts who performs nationally, will perform a cabaret of music from the 40’s and 50’s, Broadway music, and Classical pieces. 

The Senior Clubs are a wonderful place to do things and meet people and all are invited.  Seniors have fun and meet people and learn new things in Cherry Hill at the Carman Tilelli Community Center 820 Mercer Street.  Cherry Hill has a free bus service for those who need transportation to get to the meetings.  Transportation reservations can be made by calling 856-661-4711.

The Senior Clubs have invited all Cherry Hill Residents to their business/event meetings each month at the community center. The Maturity Club holds their business/event meeting on the 2nd Monday of each month at 12 noon; the Cherry Hill Retirees Club business/event meeting is the 3rd Tuesday at 1 pm and the Super Seniors Club hosts their business/event meeting on 1st Wednesday at 12 noon. Come visit to see what the clubs have to offer and meet the wonderful people of our clubs.  

The Maturity Club meets Monday from 10:30 to 3:30 .  Activities include Bingo, Cards, refreshments, trips, movies.  Dues are $5.00 /year and all (members and nonmembers) are invited to the business meeting with speaker or entertainment the 2nd Monday of each month.  Contact President Connie Cramer for information  856-414-0778

The Cherry Hill Retirees Club meets Tuesday and Friday from noon to 4PM.  The  club offers Pinochle, Bridge, Shuffleboard, discussions, and any other games, outings or activities that a group may wish to indulge. General meetings are scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month.  Hoagies and sodas are offered for $1 at the General Meetings. Otherwise Coffee, tea and pastries are available every Tuesday and Friday.  Contact William Druckman, President, 856-795-4091 or 856-857-0038, 856-795-3720 for questions. 

The Super Seniors meets Wednesdays, Noon to 4 (not on the 4th Wednesday).  Activities include bingo, cards, refreshments, trips, business meeting with speaker (1st Wednesday of each month) covered dish lunch on the 5th Wednesday of each month.  Fees are $5.00 annually and all are invited to the business meeting and covered dish luncheon.  Contact President Janice Walker-White, 856-795-4515.
