Based on a comprehensive review of traffic patterns, many traffic signals have recently been reset to improve the flow of traffic and eliminate back-ups.

Sidewalks

Sidewalks have been installed on State, County and Township roadways where safe pedestrian access to school, shopping and entertainment locations is identified as necessary. The Township installs handicapped ramps as part of the Road Program and upon request.

Cherry Hill has installed approximately 1,500 handicap ramps over the past five years and recently began an eight-year plan to replace deteriorated sidewalks and add handicap ramps in every neighborhood.

Storm Drainage

The Township has been replacing pipes, adding drains and cleaning ditches. Major projects have been completed in Erlton, Columbia Lakes, Kingston and Barclay.

In the past several years, Cherry Hill and the Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority have demolished outdated facilities or planned improvements for sewer treatment plants throughout the Township.

Parks

Cherry Hill is continually upgrading its children's parks, also referred as Tot Lots. Engineering is working in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Department to promote teen and adult athletic activity. This year's program will upgrade several existing tennis courts as well as installing a new street hockey court in the Decou Sports Complex.
