Cherry Hill Adds A New Dimension
Cherry Hill's participation in New Jersey's Adopt-A-Highway Program is unique. We are the first, and so far the only, community to focus our efforts on highway beautification along with basic maintenance and litter control.
Why We Adopted Route 70
Our municipal government, local businesses, community organizations, and individual residents are joining hands to create an attractive and well-maintained Route 70 for everyone. Many of us think of Route 70 as our community's "Main Street."
Despite NJDOT's routine maintenance efforts, grass on the median strips often grows too high and weeds create an unattractive and hazardous nuisance. Cherry Hill's adoption of Route 70 calls not only for regular cleaning of the median strip, but also a "greening" of Route 70's landscape.
Our work will be both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally beneficial.
What you can do
Today, sections of Route 70 are brighter with the addition of new flowers and plants. Grass cutting and weeding are happening with greater frequency. But we still need help expanding our beautification program. More local businesses, community organizations, civic associations, fire districts,
neighborhoods and individuals are welcome to join our adopting family with financial or volunteer support. If you are interested in becoming a part of Cherry Hill's Adopt-A-Highway Program, please complete our online form
