Melinda KaneA mother, an advocate for veterans and families, a teacher and small business owner, Councilwoman Melinda Kane has lived in Cherry Hill for over 20 years. She resides in the Woodcrest neighborhood with her two sons, Daniel and Benjamin. With gratitude for a community that rallied for her and her family at a time of tragedy, when her son, Marine Lance Corporal Jeremy Kane was killed in Afghanistan, Melinda recommitted herself to public service, seeking to give back to the people of Cherry Hill as a voice for families and our neighborhoods. Melinda is a proud American Gold Star Mother who is active with many organizations serving military families and veterans. A longtime member of Congregation M'kor Shalom and the Jewish Community Center of Southern New Jersey, she earned her BA degree in Special and Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
