Councilwomen joined residents at the Library's Backyard Bash

Councilwomen Carolyn Jacobs and Sangeeta Doshi were among hundreds of community members who came out to the Cherry Hill Public Library's Backyard Bash on Thursday night. Residents of all ages celebrated the end of the season with food, activities, games, and more. It was one of dozens of great community events put together by our Library staff, and we were thrilled to be a part of it. Council attends Junior Police Academy Class Four Graduation

Congratulations to the newest graduates of the Cherry Hill Police Department Junior Police Academy, which took place from August 6-10. Thirty recruits ages 11 to 14 spent five days with members of the Cherry Hill Police Department where they were introduced to the world of law enforcement. In its fourth year, the Junior Police Academy is designed to increase the recruit's self-confidence and understanding of team work. Instructors instill a sense of respect, for both themselves and others.

Each of the promising young men and women received a certificate and challenge coin during a graduation ceremony at Cherry Hill High School West. The members of Township Council and I offer a sincere congratulations the 2018 Cherry Hill Police Junior Police Academy Class #4, along with thanks to Chief Monaghan, Capt. Winters, Sgt. Mahan, and all of the officers and instructors whose vision and leadership made this year's program a success! Visit the CHPD on Facebook to view pictures of this year's program and graduation ceremony.

You might not realize how important certain letters are until they're gone. A, B and O are our main blood groups and when not enough people donate blood, hospital shelves may be empty when a critical patient arrives.

A few missing letters may not seem like a big deal, but for a hospital patient who needs type A, B or O blood, these letters mean life.

Help make a difference by donating blood on Monday, August 27 at the American Red Cross Blood Drive held at the Cherry Hill Public Library from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The blood drive will be held in the Conference Center on the lower level of the library. Appointments are preferred.
