Cherry Hill Welcomes New Councilwoman

On Friday, January 5, I had the honor of welcoming our newest Councilwoman, Sangeeta Doshi at our 2018 Reorganization Meeting.

Councilwoman Doshi has lived in Cherry Hill for over 21 years. She is a member of the Domestic Violence Response Team, has been a member of the Cherry Hill Planning Board, Cherry Hill Zoning Board of Adjustment, and volunteered with Cherry Hill Atlantic Little League.

Sangeeta is an active member of the Indian cultural center and temple association and is the first In
dian-American elected to office in South Jersey. She has worked as a professional in the telecommunications sector and is a former small business owner. One of Sangeeta's main objectives during her time on council will be uniting residents of all religious and racial backgrounds.

I along with Township Council couldn't be more excited for her to serve our Cherry Hill community. We are honored and excited to have Sangeeta Doshi as part of our team.

Mayor Cahn and Council Attend Jefferson Surgery Center Ribbon Cutting

On Wednesday, January 10, I along with some of the members of our Township Council attended the Jefferson Surgery Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

Jefferson Surgery Center – Cherry Hill brings specialty care including orthopedics, gastroenterology, and pain management into Cherry Hill, along with many opportunities for employment which is so important to our residents and surrounding areas.

Cherry Hill is committed to welcoming and supporting local health facilities to our area that aim to assist our residents in maintaining a healthy living.
I wish Jefferson Surgery Center the best of luck here in Cherry Hill and welcome to the community!

Essay Contest

Essay, Poster, Video Contest

Cherry Hill African American Civic Association is sponsoring an Essay, Poster, Video Contest for Black History Month 2018. The contest is open to public school students in Cherry Hill in grades K through 12th.

The essay, poster or video must depict an African American in Sports – as an athlete, coach, management or some other capacity. A list of recognized sports is included in the link below. The essay, poster or video should emphasis the contributions the athlete, coach or manager made before, during and after playing a particular sport; obstacles overcome to play, coach or manage the sport; or if they were the first African American in that sport. There will be three winners in six categories. Contest ends on February 2, 2018.
