Master Plan Survey

As we prepare for a number of public meetings seeking further input into the Township’s Master Plan, we would once again like to ask our residents to take a few moments of their time and take the online survey. The Master Plan is a document created to guide Cherry Hill Township in establishing land uses in the long-term. It is based on analysis of physical features, socioeconomic data, and emerging trends within the Township and through input from our residents. It establishes goals and policies for future development, while setting forth recommendations to guide planning decisions that will achieve a desired relationship among future land uses.

This survey provides you with the opportunity to let us know how you feel about Cherry Hill Township, from a variety of perspectives including, land use, zoning, transportation, transit, schools, commerce, and others.  This recently updated survey also provides you with an opportunity to provide direct input so you can let us know how you think we can all work together to make Cherry Hill a great place to live and work for all of our community stakeholders.

Visit our Plan Cherry Hill page to find more information about the Master Plan process and take the survey.

Leaf Collection
Leaf Collection continues though out the Township

Leaf Pickup; yard waste bags available

Curbside leaf collection will continue in neighborhoods across Cherry Hill, with the Department of Public Works on its second round of collections. Click here for guidelines and scheduled collection dates. Dates will be posted within your neighborhood approximately a week ahead of your scheduled collection.

In an effort to make information accessible in different formats for our residents, we have added leaf collection routes to our online maps, available through the Cherry Hill Information Portal (CHIP). Click here to go directly to the interactive map.

To help expedite the leaf-collection process and make it more convenient for residents, the Township is once again offering free 30-gallon leaf bags to all our residents. Leaf bags can be picked up in the Municipal Clerk’s Office (Room 107) at Town Hall, or at the Department of Public Works, 1 Perina Blvd. Bagged leaves can be placed at the curb on your scheduled trash collection day, giving you more flexibility as to when leaves can be cleaned up. For more information, call the Department of Public Works at 856-424-4422.

Safe Transaction Zone
Cherry Hill Police Department provides a safe transaction zone for residents buying and selling items online.

Safe Transaction Zone

With the holiday season right around the corner, the Cherry Hill Police Department has designated safe zones where residents can complete transactions that began online. These safe zones are designed to increase the safety of online purchases by giving members of the public a highly visible location in which to complete the transactions, 24/7.

There are two locations marked with bright yellow "Safe Transaction Zone" signs. Both sites are located in and around the Township Municipal Building. One safe zone is located in the Police Headquarters lobby, which is accessible 24/7 from the front entrance on Mercer Street. The second safe zone is located in the “horseshoe” of parking spots in the back lot at Town Hall. Both sites are continuously monitored by surveillance cameras. While these sites are accessible 24/7, Police Officers will not participate in or witness transactions nor will they guarantee the quality or authenticity of items purchased. Transactions involving weapons, drugs, drug paraphernalia, or any other illegal activity are not permitted in these zones.
CH Library

Cherry Hill Public Library Opens New Genealogy Research Center

The Cherry Hill Public Library unveiled its new Genealogy Research Center while also marking the end of an era for the Friends of the Cherry Hill Public Library.

For the last eleven years, the Friends organization, a nonprofit dedicated to raising money for the Cherry Hill Public Library, operated a gift shop just inside the library’s main entrance. The gift shop was a big part of Friends’ overall fundraising effort, generating thousands of dollars in donations for the library. The gift shop closed in January.

The new Genealogy Research Center includes numerous genealogical books and magazines, but its biggest addition is digital, a two-year subscription to Ancestry.com's library edition which was purchased with a portion of Friends’ $15,000 donation. This aspect of the center will allow residents to research their family history at the library without paying the cost for an individual subscription to Ancestry.com. The new center also includes two computers, two Chromebooks, a scanner, and more.

Senior Citizens

Cherry Hill residents enjoy the finest nearby health care facilities. It is beneficial to have information ready before there is a need to see a doctor. For emergencies call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.  For non-emergency medical treatment you may want to visit one of the many urgent care centers in Cherry Hill.  Take time to identify a center you would use if you have need of medical care; contact the center, learn of their hours and policies and if they accept your insurance or what their charges may be. If the urgent care center is connected with your regular doctor, they may have your medical information available which could be helpful and save time.

For any questions, problems, suggestions or general information on Seniors, contact Gaye Pino, Senior Services Program Coordinator for Cherry Hill. Gaye is happy to answer questions, find information, listen to suggestions and help in any way through programs available to the Senior Residents of Cherry Hill. Gaye can be reached at gpino@chtownship.com or by phone 856-661-4800.
