WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS on Sunday, May 22, 2016, Congregation M’kor Shalom will honor two special Cherry Hill residents who have made a difference in the life of the congregation and our community for many years; and
WHEREAS Linda and Steve Angstreich will receive the second Marylee and Stuart Alperin M’Kor Or Leadership Award, in recognition of their years of leadership, service and commitment to the congregation, which has enriched thousands of lives; and
WHEREAS members since 1979, The Angstreiches have filled numerous roles at M’kor through the years, with Linda serving as a past President, and Steve as Solicitor for the last three years, and the two have chaired and been members of many committees; and
WHEREAS additionally, the pair established the Abraham and Sylvia Angstreich Building Preservation Endowment Fund seven years ago; and
WHEREAS the Angstreichs have served the greater community, as well, through Steve’s involvement with the Cherry Hill Soccer Club and as an athletic coach for his sons’ teams, and Linda’s work as a teacher within the Cherry Hill School District; and
WHEREAS in light of their various contributions to the M’kor Shalom and South Jersey communities, we can think of no couple more deserving of this year’s M’Kor Or Leadership Award than Linda and Steve Angstreich, and we are proud to join with the congregation in this tribute.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to honor
Linda and Steve Angstreich
as they receive the Marylee and Stuart Alperin M’Kor Or Leadership Award, and do urge all citizens to join with me and the members of Township Council in thanking Linda and Steve for their countless contributions to the M’kor Shalom Congregation, Cherry Hill Township, and South Jersey at large.
