Mayor Cahn and Council honored the Champion Cherry Hill Youth Basketball 4th and 8th grade teams with a Proclamation at the Council meeting on April 9, 2012
WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of the Township of Cherry Hill to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS the Cherry Hill Youth Basketball 4th Grade ‘A Team’ finished the regular season with a record of 11-5, leading into the Playoffs and culminating in the title of South Jersey Boys Basketball League Champions; and
WHEREAS the Cherry Hill 4th Grade ‘A Team’ defeated the Moorestown Youth Basketball 4th Grade ‘A Team’ in a challenging final Championship game; and
WHEREAS this Championship is particularly impressive for the Cherry Hill Boys Youth Basketball Program as both the 4th Grade and 8th Grade ‘A Teams’ gained the titles of South Jersey Boys Basketball League Champions in the individual Grade levels; and
WHEREAS the skills, teamwork and good sportsmanship attributed to the entire team players, coaches, and parents, are qualities that aided the team in becoming the 2012 South Jersey Boys Basketball League Champions, and also what makes them wonderful members of the Cherry Hill community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill in the County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Monday, April 9, 2012 to be
Cherry Hill Boys Youth Basketball Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and do urge all citizens to join with me in congratulating the 4th Grade ‘A Team’ in their victorious season, and commend the parents and coaches for the lessons on athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
