WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of the Township of Cherry Hill to focus attention on noteworthy occasions; and
WHEREAS the foundation of a healthy, humane and just society is the people's willingness to work together for the common good; and
WHEREAS today, families from across the Cherry Hill community have come together for a day of fellowship and service, through the 3rd annual Community Mitzvah Day; and
WHEREAS sponsored by Temple Emanuel, Congregation Beth El, Congregation M’kor Shalom, Temple Beth Sholom, the JCC and the Jewish Federation, today’s Mitzvot activities include cooking, crafts, sandwich-making, a blood drive, and many other initiatives aimed at helping others; and
WHEREAS volunteerism helps to build the special quality of life that we enjoy here in Cherry Hill, and the Mayor and Council wish to thank those in attendance for their willingness to unite for a common good.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill in the County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Sunday, October 11, 2015, to be
Community Mitzvah Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in thanking today’s sponsoring organizations for their leadership in this endeavor, and the hundreds of South Jersey families who have volunteered this morning, for giving their time and energy to help make our world a better place to live, work and play.
