WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS today, Cherry Hill Public Schools and the Beck Middle School faculty and staff wish to honor Janet McGrath on her receipt of the 2014 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching; and
WHEREAS established by Congress in 1983, this award is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 math and science teachers; and
WHEREAS meant to highlight teachers who excel at creating high-quality educational programs that enhance student learning, the Presidential Award is given to no more than 108 teachers nationwide each year; and
WHEREAS Mrs. McGrath was nominated for the prestigious honor by Middle School Principal Dr. Dennis Perry, as recognition of the caliber of instruction and education that she has delivered to our students in Cherry Hill since January 2011; and
WHEREAS Mayor Cahn and the members of Township Council are proud to join with the district’s Superintendent, Dr. Maureen Reusche, the Cherry Hill Board of Education, and the faculty and administration of Beck Middle School, in congratulating Mrs. McGrath on this noteworthy achievement, and to thank her for her tireless efforts to educate the young men and women of the Cherry Hill School District.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Monday, January 5, 2015, to be

in the Township of Cherry Hill, and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in thanking Mrs. McGrath for her continued dedication to educating the children of Beck Middle School, and in wishing her all the best as she continues her admirable career.
