WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS tonight, the Township wishes to honor Cherry Hill resident Ted Kail, a remarkable young man who has devoted countless hours toward helping to make Cherry Hill a better, stronger and more inclusive place to live; and
WHEREAS for most of his life, Ted has been deeply entrenched in service to the Cherry Hill community – first, by helping his parents, Jill and Bob, and more recently, through his own work as a volunteer in the Township’s Recreation Department and with other organizations around town; and
WHEREAS specifically, Ted’s help in facilitating our Teen Scene and Out on the Town programs has provided our special-needs teens and adults with an important chance to interact with peers, form relationships and make tremendous social gains that will benefit them for the rest of their lives; and
WHEREAS Ted’s greatest gift is, perhaps, the ease with which he interacts with residents of all ages and abilities, and we are truly inspired by his ability to show compassion and empathy for everyone he meets, as well as the enthusiasm with which he serves; and
WHEREAS the Mayor, Council and Township staff have had the chance to work closely with Ted for many years, and we have been amazed at his growth personally, professionally and socially through the years – and we are grateful that, despite his increasingly busy schedule, Ted continues to share his many gifts with the Township and our residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, to be
Ted Kail Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in thanking Ted for his continued service to our community, and in recognizing the work that his parents, Jill and Bob, have done to help to foster within Ted the values that have made him such a remarkable man.
