WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS today, friends and colleagues have come together to celebrate and thank Joe Bush for his many years of service to the Cherry Hill Youth Athletic Association; and
WHEREAS for the last 18 years, Joe has served CHYAA as a coach, board member, treasurer, vice president, and, finally, league president, a post he has held for the last decade, and his influence is hard to fully encapsulate; and
WHEREAS under Joe’s leadership, CHYAA has become one of Cherry Hill’s finest youth athletic organizations, with a sense of family and community that can be attributed almost entirely to Joe’s influence; and
WHEREAS from organizing movie nights, banquets and outings for parents, to coordinating tournaments and clinics that have benefitted players from across the community, Joe’s positivity and guidance have helped to build CHYAA into what it is today; and
WHEREAS perhaps most importantly, Joe has been a friend, father figure and mentor to so many who have crossed his path, instilling in our children an appreciation for good sportsmanship and fair play that will serve them well throughout their lives, both on and off the field.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Wednesday, July 30, 2014, to be
Joe Bush Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in thanking Joe Bush for his many years of service to the Cherry Hill Youth Athletic Association, in wishing him well as he begins a new chapter in his life, and in expressing our sincere appreciation for the positive role he has played in the lives of so many of Cherry Hill’s youngest citizens.
