WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS the Cherry Hill Alternative High School has been named a 2014 National School of Character by the Character Education Partnership, a designation that requires vigorous screening, and has been awarded to just 41 schools across the United States this year; and
WHEREAS Schools of Character foster an environment that prepares our young men and women, both academically and socially, to be respectful, responsible and ethical citizens as they begin the transition to their next phase in life; and
WHEREAS the seeds of the Alternative High School’s character education efforts were planted in early 2008, and in just six short years, these efforts have fostered an atmosphere where students can begin to realize their unlimited potential; and
WHEREAS the School of Character designation signifies that the Alternative High School has truly risen to excellence, and the Mayor and Township Council are proud to join the faculty, staff and students in celebrating their achievement.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby recognize the
Cherry Hill Alternative High School
for being named a 2014 National School of Character, do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in congratulating the Alternative High School’s students, teachers, administrators, and parents on this tremendous achievement.
