WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS today, young athletes from all over Cherry Hill will compete in the annual Cherry Bowl Swim Meet at Wexford Leas Swim Club; and
WHEREAS with participation from more than 700 swimmers from 13 teams, the Cherry Bowl is the largest event of its kind in Cherry Hill and one of our most treasured annual events; and
WHEREAS the Cherry Bowl promotes friendly competition in a healthy, supportive environment, in turn helping to develop good sportsmanship, exercise and goal setting among the youth of our community; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council wish to recognize the parents who encourage and support their children’s interests, as well as the countless individuals who volunteer their time and effort to make this event a success; and
WHEREAS Mayor and Council would also like to thank the Wexford Leas Swim Club and the 2013 Cherry Bowl Committee for their dedicated efforts in arranging this year’s event.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Saturday, July 27, 2013, as
Cherry Bowl Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in celebrating this year’s Cherry Bowl and wishing Wexford Leas Swim Club, the athletes, and everyone involved a fun and successful event.
