WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS on Sunday, February 10, the Chinese community will ring in the New Year, and begin the Year of the Snake; and
WHEREAS the Cherry Hill Xuaxia Chinese School Board has organized a wonderful celebration that brings together the entire Cherry Hill Township community with song, dance, entertainment, and other cultural festivities; and
WHEREAS on Feb. 2, more than 400 guests help mark the start of the new year at a special Celebration and Gala Show, organized by the Cherry Hill Xuaxia Chinese School in keeping with its mission to provide the community with an appreciation of Chinese language, culture and history; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council are honored to join in celebrating the 2013 Chinese New Year.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill in the County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby recognize the
2013 Chinese New Year
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and urge all citizens to join with me and Council in celebrating the Chinese New Year, and in wishing all those who celebrate it a happy, healthy and prosperous Year of the Snake.
