WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS Rosa International Middle School Mathematics and Science teacher, Scott Goldthorp, has been awarded the 2012 Rosenthal Prize for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching; and
WHEREAS Mr. Goldthorp has established himself as a staple in the Cherry Hill Public Schools system, providing a fun and interesting atmosphere for students to learn and has set an exemplary precedent for incorporating innovative teaching techniques into the classroom; and
WHEREAS the annual Rosenthal Prize for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching is designed to recognize and promote hands-on math teaching in the upper elementary and middle school classrooms; and
WHEREAS the mission of the Rosenthal Prize is to recognize and reward exceptional teachers of grades 4 through 12 who employ innovative approaches, demonstrate that innovative math teaching exists, positively impact math education in the United States, and encourage incorporation of hands-on methods in classrooms around the country; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township are proud to congratulate Scott Goldthorp, acknowledge his achievements as a crucial member of the Cherry Hill community, and express appreciation for his commitment to the students of Cherry Hill.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby recognize
