WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS Andrew Klimek, a member of Troop 167 in Cherry Hill, has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, joining a prestigious group of young men dedicated to serving and improving the community; and
WHEREAS in addition to earning the rank of Eagle Scout, Andrew has served in various leadership positions for Troop 167, including Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, Instructor, and Den Chief; and
WHEREAS for his Eagle Scout project, Andrew led a team of 20 volunteers in installing a walkway to the Blessed Virgin Mary statue located on the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church grounds, providing members of the St. Mary’s community a permanent area for meditation and prayer in front of the statue, while creating easier access to the parking lot; and
WHEREAS the honor of Eagle Scout is bestowed upon approximately five percent of all Boy Scouts annually, and the lessons and skills this elite group exhibits provide a foundation for these young leaders to continue to lead by example through service throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council are proud to call Andrew one of Cherry Hill’s own, as he exemplifies the values that make our community strong.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Sunday, March 10, 2013 to be

Eagle Scout Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in recognizing the hard work and commitment required to become an Eagle Scout, and in congratulating Andrew on his tremendous achievement.
